A Bipartisan Path Forward for Andover Township

The fight over a massive data center is no longer quiet. At a recent Hillside Barn meeting, one speaker looked the Township Committee in the eye and said, “Well we’re here this time, and we’re telling you no.” His microphone was cut, and police threw him to the ground for continuing to speak. The committee responded not with respect but with force.

That disturbing scene confirms what we have been saying for months: the current Township Committee is not listening. They passed an ordinance in August 2025 with almost no public notice, and now Mayor Walsh has said that he is embarrassed to be the Mayor of Andover Township because residents are speaking out in opposition of this proposed center. We refuse to let our town be defined by that kind of chaos and disregard.

Protect Andover is an independent grassroots group and is not directly affiliated with the Our Town First campaign. Still, we believe their bipartisan team represents the best hope for our township’s future. They are the only candidates running with a united pledge to stop the data center and make sure a backroom deal like this never happens again in Andover Township.

A legal challenge to stop the proposed data center has begun! Andover Responsible Development needs your help to keep the battle going.
