Are all data centers bad? Absolutely not. Responsible, well planned facilities can coexist with communities. But that is not what Andover Township is getting.
We believe he township committee is hiding the truth.
They amended the data center ordinance to make the main structure and accessory buildings taller. They did this quietly without public input. Why the secrecy? Why the rush?
A legal challenge to stop the proposed data center has begun! Andover Responsible Development needs your help to keep the battle going.
We believe this is an AI data center
AI data centers are different than regular data centers. AI data centers built in Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) Programs like this one bring additional concerns.

- They consume enormous amounts of electricity
- They guzzle millions of gallons of water for cooling every single day
- They run loud backup generators and cooling systems that never stop
- They bring heavy diesel truck traffic at all hours
- They lower surrounding property values
- They strain local roads and emergency services
- The developers pay the municipality a negotiated fee instead of the full property taxes
- Zero percent of PILOT payments automatically go to the local school district
If there was nothing to hide, the committee would be transparent. They would hold public forums. They would release the environmental impact studies. They would tell us who the developer is and what the real intent is.
They have done none of that. So we will fight this. Not because we oppose all data centers. Because we oppose secret backroom deals that sacrifice our town for a developer’s profit.
